So many theories are popping up in articles about that "easter egg" surprise of them appearing in Arendelle. Some say they that Rapunzel is their are royal cousin. Fan also believe that the ship that sank was also the ship Ariel found a fork in Little Mermaid. The director of Frozen also announced that the parents didn't die in the sinking. They made it to a nearby land, made a tree housr, had a baby boy, and were both killed by a leopard.

Actually is the opposite as the fan theori suggests that Arendelle King and Queen died because they were on a trip to meet their niece... Rapunzel. (Who turns 18 in Tangled)
After their death, the movie tells us that three years have passed, so Rapunzel should be 21 years now, giving her Elsa's age. If someone is the little sister here, would be anna, all the way.
