I gave this tut a shot in version 9 of Cinema 4D. And I was able to follow all the steps without any problems. Although I've been making Abstract Renders for for quite some time now, I've also been looking for different techniques.

It is frustrating me so much that the deformations arent working.
Is there anything else i need to know to get the fucking deformations to work?!

make sure you place them in/under the desired object.

there should be an object called 'Loft nurb' in your object list. Place the splines below/in those.

yea i am having a problem with the delete part near the begining, doesn't seem to be working out right for me even though i am following it word for word. is there some small step i might be missing? i am a newb with c4d so i am sorry to bother you about this older topic. thanks

Tell me what happens if you press delete. does it delete everything?

quaizar In reply to Godxx2 [2006-02-14 15:14:39 +0000 UTC]
yea it does, but when i do the inner extrude one it looks some what like yours. so i just did the rest of it like that. It came out like crap for me but i am sure that is just because I am new. i think my biggest problem is the settings, im not sure what how much on each one, and my knowledge of this program is very limited atm. but tutorials like yours do help. if you have anymore id love to check them out.

Godxx2 In reply to quaizar [2006-02-14 18:52:20 +0000 UTC]
After selecting inner extrude you have to click and hold left mouse button and drag ur mouse to the left, and then press delete. that should work. As for the settings, you'll just have to experiment with that, cause i dont use any standard settings. Hope this helped you out. And hey im glad to help!

This doesn't clearly explain anything and found it extremely difficult to understand, sorry, but this was absolutely no use to me.

Clearly you don't have any knowledge of cinema4d, and as said in the description, this tutorial is not for beginners because you need to have knowledge of cinema4d. It's an advanced render tutorial.

Godxx2 In reply to iludel [2005-11-23 17:45:00 +0000 UTC]
This tut is in 8.5 so I don't know how it works in other versions, as for the deleting part, don't delete the nurb, but delete the extruded parts.

Yet I am too much of a coward to try your render settings. My computer will catch fire damnit. You have a supercomputer or something?

Lol no I don't have supermonitor.. I do get an error message that there's not enough memory sometimes lol..

Aint that bad? I think Cinema lowers one HyperNURBS if that happens. :\

Daethorian In reply to Godxx2 [2005-09-27 20:23:20 +0000 UTC]
Wish I could do that too. I've got to bring this laptop to my school. It's supplied by them, and I'm supposed to use it as a tool in class. Yet sometimes, I do some rendering, and if I do that, I can't do anything else. They don't like me when I do that. :]

I have all the good movies on my computer. Ah, well. ;D
How long does it take for you to make one render with these specific settings?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Godxx2 In reply to Daethorian [2005-10-05 10:06:34 +0000 UTC]
Depends on how big the render is but mostly 2 to 3 hours I guess? Unless I use a huge mib ass material/texture lol
