Sorry for the small file size. Not that I think you would want to see it larger or anything...

Went poop collecting yesterday. Why? Well, wouldn't you know it, a MAJOR part of the hermit crab's wild diet consists of fecal matter. That's right...they eat poop. Tortoise poop, donkey poop, bird poop, even human poop. They eat it in the wild. Don't believe me? I'll send you the scientific papers (but you may have to wait up to a week).

So I feed my hermit crabs moose poop. They love it!

If you have hermit crabs and are considering feeding them poop, please listen up. The diet of the animal you get the poop from needs to be all natural! No medicine, no bad foods full of chemicals, etc. You also need to use caution when handling poop. Use gloves and/or wash your hands after handling. Many bad diseases and parasites can be caught due to handling/ingesting of fecal matter. Make sure the poop is fairly fresh. You don't want fungus growing in your tank.
