Thats the way I hear it. I think it happened around the 1980's or something. I guess it is for the better, since it brought more money to fund Gamera, and at least they still used the Daiei label in the Heisei films. I still have yet to see "Gamera: The Brave." >_<

Gamera 3: The Awakening of the Demon God Irys is a cinematic gem, no matter how unpopular it is in the USA. I hear Gamera: The Brave is fabulous too.

I heard. But, it doesn't necessarily mean that it was a bad movie. Alot of very good films in Japan don't make alot of money, usually because there are other films that appeal to the audience so much it steals the box office.

I think it was because Gamera was back to beign his showa self, and not his Heisei self. He looked very kiddish and he even started out as a baby.

I agree, since the Shusuke Kaneko films (a.k.a. the Heisei Trilogy), people have been expecting a 100% serious and darker Gamera!

Thanks. That is a good idea and I actually considered doing it when I first started. I don't have a camera(I borrowed my sisters) so I need to get one. I can't draw, so that's out of the question, although I will be putting up a pic of Godzilla, albeit a bad one, and a pic of my fan made kaiju named Count Kitri. I need a better name. It is a snake-like kaiju from space(so far, I haven't really gone into detail in that perspective so that might change) with arms and wings. Kitri got it's name from my sister actually. She said count because it is Halloween and she was thinking of Dracula. I have no idea where the Kitri part came from.
Did you read my K.W.C.? I am going to be putting up a part of a G-fanfic I'm writing soon. It takes place in the K.W.C. universe after the last match.
It will give more detail on the backstory of the world. It is in the Heisei era(you know the one where the movies before Godzilla I984 never happened) but it takes place 13 years after Godzilla vs. Destroyah. Godzilla has been absent since then. Junior has been trying to adjust it's body to the extreme amounts of radiation his body absorbed when his father gave him his power. That explains his new look. Godzilla will be as intelligent and strong as the Final Wars Goji. The intelligence is beause of his exposure to humans at a young age. The pic is actualy concept art for Final Wars. It was the original design for Final Wars and I am probably boring you to death. Sorry. I start talking about Godzilla and just can't stop.

You know, you could continue the backstory of junior. Before GINO flopped, Toho was planning to continue juniors story after the US Godzilla trilogy. He would have fought monsters like Barugaron, Jyarumu, Shiigan, etc. You can look them up on Wikizilla. I'd scrap the final wars look and make him look more like an actual dinosaur, like Godzilla Neo or the DeBont Godzilla. i'm gonna ask to do some commissions for me later. When that happens, you'll see what a drawn version of my Godzilla looks like and you can decide if you want to use it or not.

I already started. I have 3 battles up(KWC is short for Kaiju War Chronicles). Godzilla is only in the first one though. DeBont Godzilla? He isn't the Final Wars Godzilla from the mvie, he is what he would have been. His chest is red, his spines are bone-like and hs scales are spiky. I have a pic of him up on my gallery.
I loved Junior and would have loved to see those movies(curse you Zilla! I like Zilla, but not as Godzilla). I heard about that from (I hope I did that right). I watch him and saw Barugaron. I can use your Godzilla design? Cool, thanks. It's Zilla right? Zilla appeared already(and lost) but I am going to use different versions of him.
Godzilla will face his greatest challenge yet. It will be the "cage match of death" as my friend Stragthehedgehog put it. Are you ready for this? Godzilla vs. Biollante, Irys, and Destroyah! The Gamera trilogy takes place during Godzilla's 13 year absence. Ultraman will appear as well. He will be in an alternate universe and come to Godzilla's, but more on that later.
No one in my family(except my dad who lives in California) likes Godzilla, so when I can talk about it, I go on for hours and hours. Okay, maybe I am exagerating.
I hope you like the matches. Godzilla vs Jirass, Rodan vs Kumosagami, and Mechagodzilla vs Zilla(type 1).

The DeBont Godzilla is the Godzilla that would have been used in the American movie. Imagine him to be a slimmed down 90's Godzilla with more dinosaurian features.
