You just have no idea how much I hate winter... >< It took me lots of efforts to do at least some of the needed preparations and get ready for the season. Once, I accidently shaved Wilson's magnificent beard, when I wanted to shave some beefalos instead. And the winter was coming in just a couple of days. >< Anyway, by miracle, I managed to get the guy at least through one winter successfully. Basically, I just made a couple of winter hats for him and stored tons of wood. And all the winter, my scientist was just randomly wandering across the land, gathering food. LOL.Related content

Ah... well, I play just DS, not a RotG. I think there're no bosses. At least I haven't met any yet.

Deerclops, fun fellow, ran into him once. Random chance of spawning in winter I think... luckily I was able to draw him over to a swamp to be attacked by tentacles. But he is big...
Then there is a tree guardian, random chance of spawning when you cut down a tree. (certain % chance depending on how may days in you are).
There are some others too, I'm pretty sure. I find it interesting you haven't run into any bosses yet though. Then again, I don't know how long you have been playing. The hounds though... those are the worst to me..... they are too quick, and the longer you survive, the more hounds show up. Keep getting 6 hounds after me during or after the first winter. hounds stink.... they are worse than any boss I have come across in DS. (I don't play with RoG, at least not yet.)

I've run into tree things, don't know they're called. Alive trees. I didn't like them...

Those trees without leaves, and with faces, those are fine. you can cut them down for Living Wood. I forget what my friend said living wood is for, but it's for something. But those trees won't hurt you. Tree guardians are just trees that walk with arms, and will follow you to attack you. either if you hit them, or if you cut down a tree near them. You can plant some trees near them to make them neutral again, but goodness I don't like them.
Unless by "alive trees" you mean walking trees, then yeah, that's the tree guardian. either walk it into a forest and light the forest on fire to burn it, or plant trees near it to make it neutral.

Those are for living wood, but, don't remember what that is used for. something to craft I think though. *shrugs* haven't gotten that far.

The Deerclops is in the DC, but they don't have the "let it go" attack
Webber is in the RoG and (I don't know if you know this) he is a boy that lives in a spider that tried to eat him he can't befriend pigs but spiders won't attack him along with the spider queen
