I guess this kinda makes sense because, when peri made her first bubble she didn't know what it was, and she was from homeworld.
So we can assume that homeworld doesn't do bubbles.
So if they didn't want to shatter the gems (kuz homeworld does shatter[The Answer]) or something and keep them as a trophy, what would they do?! >:3

And they're saved by a reformed Jasper who is leading the Ruby Squad from "Hit The Diamond" in an attack. And the Ruby Squad are attacking YD and YP because Jasper made them believe the two are imposters pretending to be YD and YP while Steven is the true YD forced into a non-YD form by a new weapon wielded by their enemies.
It was ridiculously easy for Jasper to do, to be perfectly honest. Because the Ruby Squad are... well, they're too stupid, trusting, and easily tricked for their own good.
