Description
Palm Eyewear is a line of sunglasses for fashionable women - young, fashionable, girly on a budget. According to the client's brief, the logo was supposed to be feminine and fashionable. The age of the target customer is 18 to 24 women / students. The glasses were intended for the US market. The logo is to be used on the website. The logo was also to be printed on the sunglasses themselves. The design was to include the Icon and the name "Palm Eyewear" for the website. The word "Palm" was intended to function as a separate part of the mark on the side of the frame of the sunglasses. The "icon" along with the word "Palm" were to be printed on the lens of the sunglasses.
According to the brief, the inspiration for the project was supposed to be - Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Trendy, BP Nordstrom.
The client's aspiration was to one day sponsor Coachella (Music and Arts Festival in California).
Unfortunately, my vision of a trendy logo did not appeal to the initiator of the logo contest. Apparently I'm too old to make fashionable logos for young women, or I don't know the American market [or my style is too European], but I'm happy with the work done, which motivated me to draw with pencil on paper. On the other hand, I understand that my palm icon is different from California palms, especially those associated with Beverly Hills.
All the projects I present on Deviantart are made for my own amusement and to keep this hobby alive. I no longer remember how to use some programs, especially After Effects and InDesign (last used 7 years ago). I would have to spend a lot of time refreshing my memory or learning from scratch, like Illustrator (although the principles of operation are similar to those in CorelDraw). Photoshop has never been my strong suit, but until now, I can move around in it relatively without any major problems. I like working most in CorelDraw and SketchUp; in a way, it relaxes me. [2024]
