Description
Looking behind him, the shadows of his pursuers were fading, he was losing them. His feet had gone numb and his legs had become weak. In his mind things were to cloudy to recall, he struggled to make sense of it.
‘How long have I been running?’
‘Long enough.’
‘W-who’s there?’
‘Com’on Mike, you couldn’t have forgotten about me already’
‘Not you, not again. I got rid of you!’

The voice in the back of Mike’s mind laughed.

‘Hah hah hah, Mike my friend; you can never get rid of me. I live in you, I am part of you. I always have been.’

Those words sent a chill down Mike’s spine. His awakening had taken place. The demon was free once more.
Looking at his shaking hands Mike had realized why those people where chasing him. He smelt of blood. He had killed once again.

‘That wasn’t me! I would have never hurt her!’
‘It’s too late you already have.’
‘NO! It wasn’t me!’
‘No Mike, It wasn’t, it was me. But do you think they will believe a voice in the back of your head. I only come out when the moon is full; they will never see me in time.’

Mike’s legs finally gave way; he fell to side of the pebble path. Clutching his head with both his hands. Blood soaked and cold he scrabbled to sit up, knees held to his chest, face buried in his hands…

‘Why do you do this to me? Why, what did I do to deserve this? Can’t you let me be?’
‘No, I cannot, you know that as well as I. I’m stuck here until you die.’
‘Leave me alone...’

The tears were running down his cheeks, washing away a small line of blood with them.

‘I will not leave.’
‘Leave me alone!’
‘No. Why are you fighting me? You can’t win.’
‘Leave me alone!!’
‘You love me being here, it’s your freedom, and you don’t want me to go.’
‘Leave me alone; leave me alone…LEAVE ME ALONE!’

He had screamed, the mistake had been made. As he looked up, people gathered around him, angry people, people who wanted revenge.
The demon had gotten it’s freedom.
