Night of the Moon: Part 1

Tensions had been rising every day since the colonies’ last gathering. For the first time in decades, Moon herself made an appearance in front of her colonies to deliver a message: the Red Flame will return. No one has been quite sure what she meant, the warning sparking tension growing by the day.
    During the next month, Star-speaker Storm of the Lilies traveled to all colonies to try to put an end to the fighting in order to handle the prophesied threat, only to be met with hesitance. Only Fire Colony had made up their minds-- to them, there was still a score to be settled, and asking for peace did not excuse any of it.
    The colonies gather under the light of the moon just above. Though tensions are high, cats all around are excited to begin the festivities. This will be the first Night of the Moon in two years, the start of the war last year preventing all of the colonies from gathering.

    Night of the Moon is a holiday for letting go. As colony members gather on the shore with items prepared to float free and let go of, the leaders gather in a circle to discuss the prophecy and the fate of the war. Council members of all colonies oversee activities, keep the peace, and keep regular cats from overhearing private information.
    Once the dawn begins, the vessels will be released to float away, farther than any cat and any worry can go. Then, by morning, the leaders will announce the verdict. Will the war be let go, too?

Welcome to Night of the Moon! This is a two-part event, a little different than our last events with two parts. To participate in the second part of the event, you need to participate in the first. Every member, including ones that do not participate in either event, will be allowed to view all prompts, but you may not respond to the second part without an entry to the first. The second part of the event is a piece of the overarching plot! We want your cats to be able to participate, so get hyped for that next part!

    Those of us with highranking characters are also actively roleplaying our cats discussing the outcome of the war. We will reveal the outcome with Pt 2!

Requirements: Prompts must be fully colored and at least simply shaded with at least a simple background, or 325 words of writing, or 325 words EACH of roleplay.

Night of the Moon Pt1 Prompts:

What is your cat letting go of tonight? A memento of a lost loved one? What emotions is your cat feeling when they prepare to let go of this object?
Is your cat old enough to have experienced Night of the Moon before? Last year, Night of the Moon was called off due to the start of the war, so some young cats have never seen it. What’s it like to be back? Or, for those too young, what is it like to experience it for the first time?
As the festivities go on, the cats of the colonies are growing anxious to hear what the leaders decided. Peace or war? Will the Red Flame take over? Your cat gets the idea to sneak close and try to hear what’s going on.
Your cat goes to help other cats prepare rafts to send items off with using driftwood, shells, or leaves. Who does your cat help?
