Description Day at the Fair:

    - Sadie and Ivey had been walking for a while, eventually reaching the carnival that came to town the same time every year. The two heroines had noticed various "disturbances" throughout the city, and the strongest of them was in the carnival.

Sadie thought to her "I had never seen it before, the sky become a void of stars, and then swallowed by the encroaching blackness. He had shown me so much. I always thought it was a poetic expression, but now I stood in the heart of space and saw that it was true. A darkness so deep the brightest light would seem to fade away into nothingness. The sun overhead seemed like no more than a distant ember, taunting me with how close it was to being extinguished. Everywhere I looked I saw things fading away into obscurity: people walking along the street, each step closer to being swallowed by oblivion; every building that surrounded me would soon be gone from sight; even the others were already starting to fade into the darkness."

Ivey looked over and saw Sadie's distant gaze and roused her.

"Hey...you good?"

"Yeah, yeah" said Saide as she shook her head slightly "We have to find HER."

"That's not going to be easy," said Ivey, looking around at the families surrounding them. "It was hard enough finding her in Faerie." She turned her head toward the crowd, her face lit up as she gestured at all the attraction around them. "And there are hundreds of possibilities we can't see yet."

Sadie shrugged "We'll just have to start somewhere, we could split up..."

"No need for that." A melodic, yet cold voice uttered

"What.." said Sadie quickly as a hand landed on her shoulder and another on Ivey's arm, stopping them from moving forward any further. "You really must stay together or you could get lost." The voice behind them said quietly, but menacingly.

The two spun around quickly to see a hulking, gray-skinned, horned beauty smiling at them, her powerful physique barely contained by the shirt she wore.

"At least you made it easy!" Sadie exclaimed

Ivey looked over at Sadie after that little outburst and clenched her fists, hoping this would turn into what she thinks may happen.

Magguna took in a deep breath, tilted her head a bit, and almost smugly said "Would you look at that...Lucifer has another "avatar!" My parents might get a chuckle out of this, cutie!"

Sadie, taken aback at this so-called "Demon God's" words, spouted back "Avatar?!? Who the hell do think you are, you miserable..."

Ivey seeing the oncoming chaos, jumped between them "Sadie, chill! Remember what might happen if you two fight..."

"I don't give a damn! She wants to try me, then let's do this!!" Sadie screamed, reaching for Magguna's neck.

Magguna, quite amused, didn't even bother to move, hoping Sadie would get to her.

All the while, the carnival goers have no idea what's going on. Magguna, anticipated this, cast a glamour spell around them, rendering them invisible and untouchable by the common folk.

"Please dear Ivey, let her go. I'm sure your city would enjoy watching out little sparring match." Magguna gently said, her eyes beginning to glow a soft red

Ivey pushed Sadie back "Stop it. You're not the only one of your kind here, are you?"

"Of course not. My mother and her servant Ultratus have been here for weeks now, surveying and, well, savoring the menu." Magguna said with a wide grin

"The menu? The hell does that mean?" Sadie growled with a look of disbelief

"What do you think Sadie?" Ivey said without breaking eye contact with Magguna. "You push this further, we will stop you."

Magguna chuckled "Good, very good. I was hoping you would say that."

Sadie had a sudden realization "What about your husband? This Garian or whatever?"

"He has nothing to do with this, nor does he want any part of it. Reassured, he is out there, watching all of us right now."

"What? I haven't sensed anyone out there." Sadie said

Magguna flashing a knowing grin "And you won't. His people, like mine, have faced avatars, demigods, and even supreme ancients. They know how to get around the senses of beings such as yourself, but, back to the matter at hand. Lucifer chose you, and my people immediately took notice, hence me and my mother being here. We've had conflict with him in the past, and we were just making sure that you weren't considering doing the same." slowly closing her fists while looking at Sadie

Sadie crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes "For someone who claims to be all powerful, you seem a little too cautious."

"You're confusing caution with preparedness. How do you think my people ruled Hell for so long?"

“Bully for you, bitch.” Sadie snarled

Magguna smiled, and turned to leave “We'll see each other again soon, and please, tell your friend Tyche that my colleague Unebe would like to challenge her to a match. Farewell.” And with that, Magguna teleported away in a burst of dark flame.

Ivey shrugged “Well, that went well. We gotta tell the others.”

Sadie paced around a bit “Alright, alright, but I'm looking forward to kicking in her spine!”

“Boast after you've beat her.' Ivey said shaking her head “C'mon, we gotta get going.”

    • The Moon:

Garian sat quietly beside the monolith his people has placed on Earth's Moon over 6000 years ago “Oh Magguna, my love. Your people just can't help themselves, can they? Ah well, at least this planet has finally produced a challenge. Let the games begin...”
