Description
The final piece. I wanted to do something that reflected my anger after the article I saw yesterday on an anti manson site. I wanted to do this piece in the style of a newspaper, I think it needs work with the grain and lighting but for my first photo manip using stock Im happy. The photos could use a bit of work but I did do this in one night. I also wrote a completely fictional news story to go with it. It is meant to be ironic and I do not consider myself a writer but I thought the image needed text. Story follows the credits.

Goth rock star Marilyn Manson yesterday dismissed suggestions that his music may have inspired a girl, whose identity will be kept anonymous for legal reasons, to commit suicide. The girl was found on the floor of her bedroom with a single gunshot wound to her head, police also found needles and scalpels surrounding the girl. In a statement the police said: “We believe that the girl had been using drugs and self harming as a result of lyrics in a Marilyn Manson song found in her diary, which also stated it was ‘his fault’”
The girl had been fanatical about Manson for years and had given up the religious values she had been shown by her parents. Several CDs were found near to her body, one of the covers images showed a burning cross depicting Manson’s obsession with Satanic Rituals the other was a single ‘Get Your Gunn’ which the girl had most likely been listening to minutes before her death. Manson’s songs are notorious for their God hating lyrics and Satanist attitude, have influenced the behaviour of many teens and lead them to suicide.
The police also found a number of photographs of Manson in the girl’s room, one of which depicted him as Jesus on a crucifix, religious groups were outraged by the image, and believe that this almost certainly was the cause of the girls loss of faith.
In a newspaper interview yesterday, the American shock rocker denied that his work had any influence on the crime, he said he is nothing more than a scapegoat, taking the blame for the actions of a very disturbed child.
