Jeremy always hated working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The pay was good, make no mistake, but it was the fact that the animatronics, both old and new, are trying to kill him. The only thing that made it worthwhile was his co-worker, (Name), a bright girl who needed the money for going through college. Her (h/l)(h/c) hair had a bit of a bounce to it, and her (e/c) eyes always sparkled. The only downside was that (Name) was always depressed to the point of crying at the most inconvenient moments, such as when Foxy could be right down the hall ready to pounce on the two of them. This time, however, he had noticed (Name) was sadder than before. When he got to the office, she was already sitting at the desk with her head down, her hand fiddling with a Toy Bonnie figure she got from the Prize Corner. Speaking of which, the first thing he did when their shift began was switch the monitor to the Prize Corner and wound up the music box.
"Precaution," he told (Name) when she picked up her head only to look at him confused.
She only nodded and put her head down once more, this time taking the flashlight and shone it down the hall. No one's down there, fortunately for them, but Jeremy knew that they can't take chances, since it's their third night together. (Name) had put the flashlight down after turning it off and resumed messing with the figure. After a while, (Name) suddenly spoke up.
"Right air vent," she spoke, causing Jeremy to put down the monitor and push the button above the vent (Name) mentioned.
He recoiled when he saw Mangle's face peeking into the office, hitting the desk which caused (Name) to pick her head up. She looked at him with a saddened glare in her eyes as he switched the air vent light off.
"Get your mask on," he said, putting on his mask.
She had done so, and after a while, Mangle had gotten into the office, looked at the two, and left by the same air vent. Both night guards waited a while and took off their masks. The rest of the shift was pretty much the same, (Name) saying where the animatronics were coming from, Jeremy checking to see if she was right as well as them putting on their masks, and they also took turns monitoring the others (although (Name) still had her head down) and winding up the music box in the Prize Corner when needed as well as keeping Foxy at bay. When he saw that it was getting close to 6 AM, Jeremy decided to ask the one question that was bothering him during the whole shift.
"Okay, what's wrong with you today?" he asked as (Name) shone the flashlight down the hall to find Bonnie making his way towards the office, making the two put on their masks again.
"Wait until Bonnie leaves, then I'll tell you," (Name) said in a muffled voice.
When Bonnie looked in, he then left upon seeing the two guards clad in masks. Both Jeremy and (Name) took off their masks and set them aside.
"So?" he asked, causing his co-worker to look at her (f/c)-polished nails with tears in her eyes.
"One of my friends passed away a couple of days back," she said finally, her voice cracking at the end as she broke down into a sobbing mess like she usually did.
Jeremy was completely surprised when he heard that. (Name) has never talked about her friends unless someone asks her, but this time, she was genuinely upset over her friend.
"How'd it happen?"
"At first, I thought it was a sickness since he always got sick, but then I was told that he... oh, God," she took a deep breath in spite of her sniffles. "That he killed himself."
(Name) sobbed some more, causing Jeremy to hug her close to him, getting his work shirt covered by her tears. He wasn't sure about what to think, but he did know that suicide always affects people directly or indirectly. After a while, he noticed that some of the animatronics had appeared in the office, but, much to his surprise, they left, not wanting to bother the two. He looked at the clock and saw that it was 5:59 AM.
"You okay?" he asked (Name).
She only nodded.
"All right," he said, tilting her head upwards so that he looked straight into her eyes. "Listen, it's going to be okay."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
With that, he hugged her some more. When the clock struck 6, they got up and made their way towards the entrance. Upon reaching there, Jeremy suddenly felt (Name) hug him from behind.
"Thanks for understanding," she said, making him chuckle a bit.
"It's the least I could do," he said, planting a kiss on her cheek, startling her somewhat. "I love you, (Name). Ever since we first met each other."
She was clearly shocked by that, but she wound up smiling significantly.
"I love you too, Jeremy."
Jeremy smiled as well after she said that. He then took her hand and walked her home like he usually did.
"Hey (Name), how did you know when the animatronics were coming?"
"I felt the vibrations on the desk caused by their metal feet or bodies."
As they walked, they hadn't even noticed that the others were watching them from within the restaurant, shocked yet happy that the two had actually found love in each other.
