On her toes
The music, surrounding her and lifting her
Like the arms of ancient ancestors
Dancing with her
So she is not alone
She hears their voices
Feels their breath in the wind
Against her neck, her arms
Encircling her like a partner
Her short hair is tugged and ruffled
And her body warmed by the sun
The grass is soft between her bare toes
The day warms as she raises the light
She dances on and on, never tired
Spring has returned and brought the warmth
