It has been my favorite couple from the first season and ongoing.
I really loved their true love and hated how networks purposely broke them up.
POV on the Total Drama Franchise Shipping FanwarThe Total Drama Series shipping fanwar has been going on for a long time ever since crack ships became popular; along with the network request from Cartoon Network.
Fresh TV, Teletoon, Cartoon Network, and creators Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch were all involved with the production; however not everything that happened in the series was intentional.
About the network request from Cartoon Network, it’s main purpose was to was to stir up “drama” and teach kids that couples break up. However it seems more like it was used to please immature fans who like fake love.
The main canon pairings Gwent (Gwen x Trent) and Duncney (Duncan and Courtney) were never supposed to break up.
It was a reluctant and executive decision from the creators according to Fresh TV.
When Cartoon Network took over the show’s production, it forced Gwen and Trent to break up even though they experienced true love and had really good chemistry. Cartoon Network then broke up Duncan and
