Não tenho mouse, vou no dedo mesmo. Sabe o touch do note? Então... D:
Espero mesmo que eu evolua.
Hahaha, verdade.

not in near future, i think. It looks very cool but is totally unergonomic

Grafik In reply to Edarneor [2010-09-16 20:35:25 +0000 UTC]
its already on the works this type of technology, why's not ergonomic? simple touch of hand? just because you dont have an object in your hands?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Edarneor In reply to Grafik [2010-09-17 09:35:53 +0000 UTC]
that's exactly why!
Think about it: with a mouse, you only have to move your hand 15-20 cm (6-8 inch) to get from one corner of the screen to another, while with such future holographic displays you would need to move your whole arm, and the larger the display the more distance you have to move it! Imagine, just closing a few windows in the opposite corners becomes an aerobics event.
Besides, your arm actually rests on the mouse pad, which supports the weight. Have you ever tried to hold it fully stretched for even 5 minutes? Aha! What about a few hours of point and click with outstretched arm?
well, that's what I'm talking about

Grafik In reply to Edarneor [2010-09-17 09:56:15 +0000 UTC]
actually the mouse excuse is just plain laziness, you have the examples of the game industry, the controls are being removed by our own movements make us play, then you have things like augmented reality, huge touch screens, that's not me saying, it's the industry making, in this work replaced the actual physical touch screen by an holographic one projected, you already have keyboards that work with similar to that...
For example to paint i use a wacom tablet A4, the movement is the same as drawing in a paper size A4, you have more expendable stuff where you draw on screen with 21" something like A2 size, so about movement that quite a bit, ergonomics means if it fits your physic, doesn't cause stress on the body, I've study ergonomics, since my degree is of design and apparently the industry is thinking the same on these things, the mouse only exists because there weren't a technology to replace it... but now there is!
In a more far future it will be with your brains, but you will have virtual reality were you move around and touch stuff that isn't real.

Edarneor In reply to Grafik [2010-09-17 20:44:53 +0000 UTC]
yeah, I know about the examples in game industry. You mean like microsoft kinect? - but that's for playing games, not working.
It's fun to move your body in games, but in work you have to be as efficient as possible! that's why all the programs like photoshop have keyboard shortcuts!! imagine yo have no keyboard - what about ctrl+z? alt+tab, etc...
projected keyboards? I seriously doubt it - can you type on one without looking? I personally don't look at my keyboard when i work, i'm guided by the sense of touch, but you can't touch a projection.
I agree - the bigger your tablet - the better, but only up to a certain size. no one makes them bigger than 30", even wacom, cause it's just uncomfortable. Therefore, huge touch screens are fiction
you're right - the most ergonomic thing would be controlling the pc with your brain, and virtual reality, but until then, a big tablet or a mouse is the best you can have...
