Description
A simple colored variation on the #AllOutWithPride lineart provided for the 2023 DeviantArt Pride Month event: LGBTQ+ Pride Month: All Out With Pride . Not as complex as I wanted it to be, but I still like it, and I hope you do, too.
Here's my deviation for Pride Month 2022, by the way, from which some of the colors on this are intermediately derived.
(Edit as of 4:40 United States Eastern Time on 2023-07-01: First, as indicated with the title, I may release other versions of this in the future.
Second, for some further commentary:
Like in the previous deviation, I harvested the shades used in this from official DeviantArt images as well as, in this case, several other sources. I didn't draw in the extra brown-and-black stripes of the full Philadelphia and Progress Pride flags {though was considering it and there was an abandoned fork of me starting doing so; as indicated with the title} as the black/brown and "white" hands at the bottom already indicate what the stripes conventionally represent—the presence and importance of people of color in GSRM communities and the queer movement's critical ties with anti-racism. I also colored the smileys Emoji Yellow partially so they can be viewed as any race. Also, the accessory flags I drew on the stars {aromantic and bisexual} are, well, mine I guess? It's the most relevant 2 I could have picked for a Deviation from me, but I feel some imposter syndrome in embracing the flags or even the terms, given that the exact intricacies of my psychology seem to differ from what is typically meant by these terms and that I haven't really been persecuted for it.
Third, I noticed that for some bizarre reason, comments seem to be now off by default when submitting a Deviation? I dunno, I fixed that.
Finally, echoing my words from last year, I hope you all had a happy Pride Month † this year, and if you didn't , organize and fight until you have one!
†Just shows you how long DeviantArt has been around for that this was their original/legacy LG(BT+) Pride symbol, and partially how much progress has been made since then. Once again, keep it going!
END EDIT)
