Description Another commission -- drawn with brush pen, colored in Photoshop. This one features Summer Glau from the 2008 Terminator TV series, where she plays John Connor's latest robo-protector, "Cameron" (a nice little wink to the man himself - James Cameron).

Cool! The stripped-down terminator droid seems like something that would be really hard to draw. You got it here though!

Bonny work! Your style is absolutely fabulous. Though the show itself makes me want to take my shillelagh to every television screen in my house. It seems a much more amusing alternative to simply changing the channel.

Nice execution, man!

Yeah I like the show so far, too..although the 'Cromarti' Endo's head wouldn't have survived the time displacement blast (because the skin was blown off) since "nothing dead can travel", but whatever!

Yeah, ya know, I hadn't even thought of that.. Hah.. But I guess I assume terminators are immune to that, since Ahhnold had the robo-skeleton, and he was able to time-travel in the bubbles, etc.. I dunno, when it comes to anything time travel related, I just look the other way and say, "Whatever.."

Yeah, the Terminator 'combat chassis' endoskeletons can travel because they're covered by living tissue..an organ that's technically 'alive'. That's why they always appear nude when they reach the time destination; clothes and material items are zapped away. Kyle Reese, all of the Ahnold Terminators, and the T-1000 all appeared in their nakeyness.

This is a pretty hard and fast rule in the Terminator 'rulebook', so it struck me as sort of overlooked in the series but honestly, I can overlook it.
The one other slight incongruency besides the TV show could be the T-1000 time traveling in T2. Since he's totally 'liquid metal', how could he travel? UNLESS his mimetic polyalloy ability could fool the time displacement equipment that much to resemble human flesh, the geek fanboy in me says "huh?" Like you said tho, "whatever.."

The "Sarah Connor Chronicles" overlooks the whole T3 movie which is fine by me; that thing kinda sucked. I like how they kept the pseudo-chronology with Sarah apparently developing Leukemia but any further connections to the third movie in the TV show would be dumb, I feel.

Ah.. okay, I see what ya mean now. Yeah, there are definitely loopholes.. Still, I can overlook 'em, as long as they keep giving us sexy women with big guns. : P har

I really like the TV show so far. I wonder how different 'Cameron' really is? I mean she has blue eyes, which is a big change from the standard red eyed Termies. Ignoring T3 (Which..well, we should), Cameron is the first Terminator to break away from that mold. Being that she's the main Terminator in the series and she will carry a lot of the publicity, I wonder why they went with blue, non iconic eyes..

Eh.

I just double-checked over at the official site's gallery , and she definitely has brown eyes. I think they just did the flashing blue color for the opening and that's it.

I was referring to the underlying robot (cyborg) eye color..not the disguised Cameron eye color in infiltration mode. If her skin were to be destroyed and all that would be left is her endoskeleton, those eyes are blue. I've never noticed what actual color Cameron's eyes (or the actresses' are.

Oh, okay - I see what you're saying. ... See, I'm learning more about Terminator today than over the past 20 years combined! heh

Didja know that the 'old', future John Connor seen at the beginning of T2 was actually Michael Richards? (Kramer from 'Seinfeld'!!), and that the foley artists messed up the sound effect of Sarah's escape from Pescadero Hosipital? Her footfalls sounded like she was wearing dress shoes when she was actually barefoot.

Since I'm on a geek Terminator topic thing...I'll also mention that I find it really interesting that James Cameron, not Stan Winston originally designed the Terminator. He'd had a nightmare of the T-800 Endoskeleton chasing him, woke up, and thought it was a great concept. Also Lance Henriksen (Bishop from "Aliens" was originally conceived as the Terminator, not Arnold? The thought was that Lance could more easily blend into a normal human population. Kinda neat stuff.

Are her eyes blue in the show??? I know they flash blue in the opening credits, but I looked at a ton of promo photos, and her eyes are brown in all of 'em..

Tophoid In reply to grantgoboom [2008-02-09 22:30:31 +0000 UTC]

I mean backlit blue...I don't mean the actual eye color. U get me. They also flashed blue in the second part of the Pilot episode, I think..when Sarah, John and Cameron went to visit Miles Dyson's widow.
