The greys and blacks of the eye make the picture so solemn to me.. But the vividness of the green just snaps my eye right onto the picture. I love the wording .. so poetic.
And the line curving around the eye feels like a tattoo. As if the model is branded with his/her confusion ..
Then, the circles and shapes within the eye make it feel cybernetic, almost. Like the person is a tool? Or maybe just a previous solitary being -- robotic like -- who is only now learning how to feel?

Urk, I sat here for ten minutes deciding weather or not to pick "Like Deviation" or "Somewhat Like Deviation." The reason I was deciding on this is because, the eye-- is fucking amazing. It's just gorgeous, the coloring, the placement, how you actually got the eyelids over the eyeball through layers. BUT the text seems a bit too sharp and not as smooth as the eye; and this is why I was debating it. But, the eye took my vote. Nice job!

LIKE deviation is too mild a term. I LOVE this piece!
The concept is wonderful to start with. Understanding, window to the soul, always the eye is the pivot of the face. Even so, you take the cleched one-eye-photo and turn it into a thing of interest and beauty.
The designs and the faded out color *with the notable exception of the iris* make the ideas and image fuse with a kind of fluid grace.
