Description A reversion to phanerozoica; which in my brief study at Mizzou, I learned is more appropriately called "stochastic aleatory"... Anyways, the tissue paper revealed a pair of raptor-esque figures. The "personal breakthrough" here is that I left the tissue paper alone - in other words, I established the outline and then, rather than fighting and obscuring the materials with endless pencil rendering, blocked out negative shapes and selectively obscured boundaries. The key "victory" though remains the fact that I allowed the magenta and oranges of the ground material to be revealed.

As far as subject matter, your guess is as good as mine... I haven't really been "in to" dinosaurs since I was six - although raising a boy might rekindle those passions - and I like birds well enough, just wouldn't normally use them as featured figures... anyways... Love these colors together; quasi-tropical and unique contrast - again, no personal or social significance - just having a great time drawing and painting.
