Description This species of Amphicastes burrow into trees and create elaborate nests. There are multiple castes:

Burrowers: They dig and cut out chambers for the rest of the colony.

Processors: They are designed to process and cut the food the forager caste brings. They are also in charge of feeding the nymphs.

Forager: They are by far the largest and most specialized caste. They are the males of the colony and occasionally reproduce with the queen. They are winged and have the ability to pull fruits and nuts from trees. They usually fly during the day and will retrieve various nuts and small fruits for the colony. Some other species of Amphicastes have predatory and nocturnal forager castes.

Queen: The queen caste produces eggs. They can produce up to 10 per day and are the longest lived of the castes.
