Progress of the costume on our tumblr: green-makakas.tumblr.com/Howl's Moving Castle or who the hell doesn't love Miyzaki movies? I can attest to having had my small anime-crush on Howl back when the movie came out. So flamboyant, self-absorbed and childish, yet so... well... nice.Genuinely nice in his childish way.
Anyways, we decided to go back to that and do a Howl cosplay. The place we shot it was magnificent but so freaking cold
We froze our asses off with that wind. We're almost always extremely unlucky with weather during photo shoots. Oh well.Btw, if you have never read the book Howl's Moving Castle that the anime is based on, you missing out on something! It's a really great one and can totally compare to its famous adaptation.
P.S. The photos were taken in a tiny German village. I love my country. It's BEAUTIFUL!

Du hast seinen Charakter sehr gut getroffen, die Pose und der selbstsichere Blick passen einfach perfekt. Und natürlich eignen sich Fachwerkhäuser auch super für ein Howl´s Moving Castle-Shooting das erinnert sehr an die Stadt aus der Sophie kommt.
Schön zu sehen das noch jemand das Buch gelesen hat

Not going to lie when I saw this in my messages I couldn't help but smile. Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite Miyazaki movie. Oh and I love the little village it's a perfect place for this cosplay.

Dad was in the Army... was stationed in Ober-Ramstadt and he had an apartment in Alsbach. It was his last tour, and I was in grade school. I was there 2 years and didn't want to come home

Habe das Buch sehr geliebt und war schon immer ein Miyazaki-Fan, aber die Animeadaption davon hat mich sehr enttäuscht und verwirrt. Hätte ich das Buch nicht gelesen, hätte ich der Geschichte wahrscheinlich Nul abgewinnen können. :C

Ich weiß, was du meinst! Es ist eigentlich sehr glücklich, dass ich das Buch erst nach dem Anime gelesen habe, sonst hätte ich es nicht genießen können. Es ist Storymäßig wirklich sehr verwirrend, sobald es vom Original weggeht und wenn man erst weiß wie es sein sollte... ich mag das Anime trotzdem, schon allein wegen der ersten Hälfte und der tollen Bildern, aber das Buch ist in der Hinsicht einfach viel stärker.
Das Dorf heißt Monschau, liegt an der belgischen Grenze.

Miyazaki halt, die Hintergründe sind fantastisch und die Animation vom Schloss war irre. x)
Wie findet ihr immer solche Kulissen? An so Dörfern fährt man doch nicht zufällig vorbei und denkt sich dann "Lass mal 'n Howl shooting hier machen."

Das eine ist ziemlich bekannt als Touristenziel, haben Fotos von dort gesehen. Aber ernsthaft, es ist wirklich schon einige Male passiert, dass eine von uns praktisch im Vorbeifahren eine Location gefunden hat
