Gender ratio: 100% genderless

Slimes are cell-like creatures made up by liquid goo; they have a solid layer of "skin" made of jelly that keeps them together and a central nucleus that works as the brain/heart of the critter; they all produce mucus to keep their body moist.
There are many variants of these creatures with different habits and looks, but they all share some common features; they all live scattered around, not having any social structure and reproduce by splitting; only the biggest ones, however, can do that since they shrink down depending on how many offsprings they produce and how big they are.
A slime generally starts small, growing as they gather excessive energy from food; in places with overabundance of food there are either a lot of exemplars or very big ones and the situation usually changes and reverts constantly; a slime mouth can stretch at almost half their body size.

Subspecies: barbed slime
Diet: bugs, mushrooms, vegetation, mold.
Habitat: swamps, sewers, garbage dumps.

This subspecies evolved to live in places with murky, dirty water and environments; they have gummy skin and small tentacles they use to scoot around and grab stuff; they evolved to digest rotting and moldy stuff without getting ill.
Their mucus is oily and slippery, to avoid things sticking to their bodies.

Subspecies: leafy slime
Diet: N/A, uses photosynthesis.
Habitat: Forests, grasslands, woodlands.

Living in places with a lot of sun and plants, these slimes evolved to have huge leaves on their bodies and developed photosynthesis, thriving on water and sunlight alone; smaller than usual, their skin is fibrous and elastic and they also lack a mouth.
Their mucus is sticky and very similar to lymph, it helps them climbing trees to get into sunny spots without falling.

Subspecies: bubbly slime
Diet: small crustaceans / mollusks, algaes, fishes.
Habitat: Rivers, lakes, beaches.

These slimes evolved to live into water are quite liquid, with air filled spots forming bubbles that help them fluctuate in it; their skin is soft and squishy, because of this on land they are quite floppy.
Their mucus is liquid and watery, it makes them slippery and hydrodynamic.
To eat they simply swim around with their mouth wide open, or drop on the riverbed ingesting everything, the bigger ones can ingest whole fish shoals.

Subspecies: tower slime
Diet: bugs, small reptiles / mammals, eggs.
Habitat: Mountains, rocky areas.

Long slimes that evolved to live in the driest zones, they have a thicker, rubbery skin that keeps them safe from rocks and other sharp things, their mucus is dull and thick, almost dry; dirt usually gets stuck in it, providing an extra protective layer.
They are some of the few slimes who don't have plants in their diet, they can eat other small critters and sometimes eggs if they find them; the bigger exemplars however can and will often feed on bigger animals.

Subspecies: multi-slime
Diet: fruit, flowers, paint, plastic.
Habitat: city suburbs, urbane areas.

These slimes evolved to live in urbane zones, they adapted to eat artificial objects, like plastic, rubber and even drinking paint; the bigger ones can eat whole flower pots or paint cans.
Their skin is average and squishy and their mucus is sticky and slippery, overall they are pretty "standard"; their particularity stands in their weird colors and in their ability to join together.
When born these slimes immediately stick with each other in groups of two or three, conjoining down to the nucleus; the bottom one is always bigger and the position of the others can vary, very big ones can have even from three to six other smaller slimes stuck on top of them.

Another reference done!
This one is on slimes; I tried making my own kinds, customizing them a little.

Again I had this done and saved in sta.sh for a good two days and wasted time instead of writing this stuff out <_<
