Throwback Thursday #23
Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursdays!

This week's throwback was actually scheduled to be #71, but I thought better of what I'd had lined up for this week originally and decided to use this picture instead.

So, yes, I did draw more pictures of Avatar Guy and Ursula back around the same time as the first pictures of them I did. And really, looking at those old pictures now says a lot about how far the characters have come. Recently (i.e. the last couple of months,) I've been constructing a world for the newer versions of these two to live in, and they're both very different from their original incarnations. For a start, Avatar Guy is completely unrecognisable from his redesign, and nowadays I imagine him wearing suits and assorted fancy clothing (velvet jackets and such; picture Jon Pertwee as Doctor Who.) And yes, I did draw him in his jeans-and-nothing-else just recently, but that was a redraw of my first deviation.

And lately, in the context of the new world they come from, Ursula is actually a nudist. It's not as bad as it sounds, I promise. But let's address the elephant in the room: these two, in their previous incarnation, were in fact boyfriend and girlfriend. And now they're not. That is, the newer versions of these characters never got together. As backstories go, this one is actually pretty bonkers now that I think about it; maybe I'll talk about it in another edition of Throwback Thursdays.
