Another comm finished, this time for Spritz. on Fur Affinity! Funny story, a while back I saw this adopt of an adorable sea dragon and loved the design... and what do you know, her eventual owner ended up commissioning me, so I got to draw her! Small world.

This is yet another limited palette one with 6 colours. I'll probably do other numbers of colours someday, but this is definitely my favoured palette size. And yet again, I'm really pleased with the colour combination! It was an interesting challenge to try and shade her in without obscuring her spotted markings, since the colour for her skin in shadow would be the same colour as her dark spots out of shadow, for example. The solution I came up with was to make the dividing line between light and shadow dotted and dashed, so your eye reads it differently and you can still discern the markings underneath. I think it worked quite well!

I've also got some test drawings to show you this time:

There's the palette test, and three pose ideas. Number 3 was the one I'd had in my head all along, and it was definitely the best one there so I'm glad my client picked that one too. I got to add in an adorable little seahorse to sweeten the deal, and it looks like he's fallen in love. Who can blame him? She's such a gigantic cutie! (Literally, from his perspective.)
