Hey, look! It's some Undertale fanart! You probably won't know this, but I've been a pretty big fan of Undertale ever since I found out about it. I haven't actually played the game myself, but I've watched several playthroughs, so there'd be no point in playing it now, really. I first heard about Undertale when the Game Grumps played it (well, technically it was Steam Train, but whatever). I meant to get round to watching it at some point; from the thumbnail (Papyrus and hearts) it looked like one of those mildly interesting and quirky indie games. But after a couple of weeks, I looked at it and saw just how many views it had, and I thought there really must be something in it. So I watched it, and from the very first episode, I was hooked. Lovable characters, charming graphics (if not always pretty), innovative battle system, good humour, clever subversion of RPG tropes... this game had them all in spades. It's not hard to see why it was so many people's Game of the Year. But I digress...

The main reason I haven't drawn anything from it until now is because I couldn't think of anything. If you take a look through my gallery, you should see that I don't like making drawings that are just "this character". I always try to do something slightly more complex and unique like "this character doing this", or "this character with a specific theme". There are so many artists out there, and skilled ones at that, who almost always draw "this character" pictures, especially if it's a commission type they do. The only "this character" pictures I normally draw are sketches or experimental stuff, or in the case of Moodyshy Lite , an alternate version of the proper picture. But I digress...

So recently I rewatched the Game Grumps playthrough, and started looking at fanart again. And I discovered 's plethora of Bratty pictures. And I saw how he had just tweaked her design slightly and made her look so much more appealing, like I've seen with several Pokemon in fanart too. And I thought, "Hey! That alley gator is actually pretty cute!" And you know how much I love cute scalies. So I had to draw her myself. When I looked more closely, I started to absolutely adore her colour scheme. It's so perfectly colour-coordinated! The idea of her reclining and showing off her midriff and deliciously long legs eating some Glamburgers was just about complex enough not to feel boring. I may or may not have pinched the hairstyle or leggings from Skoon's pictures of her, but my instinct said to go with the leggings in the opposing colour to her sleeves before I even noticed he'd done that. But I digress...

So she was supposed to have this "disinterested cool" look on her face, but the further I went on, the more it looked like she was thinking "Hey, like, wait a second... this is actually super gross. Are these literally made with sequins and glue?!" So I rolled with it, because I was struggling for a title - which is another thing that annoys me about a lot of artists. There are lots of people who, for example, might draw lots of pictures of Fluttershy, and title them all "Fluttershy". Like, that's so boring!! But I digress...

Oh, and I recorded myself drawing this, even though it's just a flat colour image. The speedpaint is linked above.

Brohoof! (Ah, you know what, maybe I should stop saying that since I don't mostly draw MLP nowadays.)

I wonder if Skoon is aware that "waif" is actually a word meaning "homeless, neglected or abandoned person, especially a child", and not just short for "waifu".
