Slender Man ComesYou hear the whispers of his name
Like something secret and profane
The stories of him told to young
Of those unfortunate to have met him
When he comes
He comes out from amongst the trees
Bringing horror to those that see
A man, yet strange and grotesquely tall
A kind of man who shouldn't exist at all
Arms and legs long and limber
To leave your body, high in the timber
A face devoid of any features
Simple yet horrifying is this creature
No one knows from where came
Or where he will appear again
His stride is quick so you can run
But chances are your life is done
His coming is heralded by a fog
Children laughing, barking dogs
He comes to only those whom believe
So for your sake, you best not give heed
Some say he's existed, since time began
Others say, he's the ghost of a murderous man
Some say he came from the stars
Others from a dimension that is not ours
No one knows and no one cares
All they know is that he's there
His name is simple and so plain
But, his presence will drive you insane
Oh, how I wish he'd go away
But I think, he's here to stay
So when you see him, pray you can
Get away from the Slender Man

Nice song lyrics, and whilst great Cthulhu is always better than the Slender Man, the stores I've read about him are pretty badass.

This wasn't actually supposed to be a song. More a poem in the style of Edgar Allen Poe meant to elicit fear from the reader. But thank you for the kind words and I will check out the site.

Wow I didn't know you liked Marble Hornets (or the various forums it came from). Pure awesome indeed. I really wish more movies were actually like Marble Hornets, how it not only brought a creepypasta to life and fleshed it out but also held has so much subtle horror and mystery, leaving the creepy to the imagination and the unexpected, not being bombastic and jumping out at your face.
You did a great job of bringing out that air of mystery about the slender man. I think the best thing about this is that (especially in the last stanza) where you acknowledge the lack of explanation behind what Slender Man is. And I think that's what makes him so great and charismatic is that there is no explanation or motive behind him.
I'm also quite pleased that you've taken up writing again. I now need to follow suit.

Yeah, I decided to go with the whole, "no one knows where the Slender Man came from/what's his purpose/etc." motif that every piece of work related to him seems to use. The first time I really read and studied anything about the Slender Man, I remember having trouble sleeping that night. I just love the folklore behind him though and wish someone would do a novel or feature length movie based around him.
