These pages introduce the last of the central cast from the movie and represent the first extended scene of the Special Edition Graphic Novel. originally Matt's character was introduced in a 'blink-and-you-miss-it' scene as he is seen securing an aircraft (not his!?!) to a weight in between shots of Tasker's Edgley EA-7 landing. Free of cinematic limitations it made more sense to introduce the reckless Matt Owens in flight thereby establishing both his opportunistic attitude and piloting skills from the start.

Eagle eyed viewers of this piece will notice that his light aircraft differs from the one in the movie this is for simple reasons of design copyright. Matt has also had a make over to give him less off the Marty McFly Meets Martin Riggs style he was given in the original.
