Description
Our world is formed through the memories of others as the base fabric of it all.It all has become so complex that it has become a lifelong study to understand the structure on which it all has been based, impeding every step we try to take forward.
But if we further develop on an Idea we do not fully understand, how do we know if the thing we just made is an advancement instead of a failure.
I started this poem a little different then I should have, or as I wanted, but I have no solid line to follow. I would like to write about our current day, in true sincerity and honesty, even if that could destroy the world you lived in. Everything we do, we think, we plan in the western world is formed by expectations. It's a part of our culture, our being, and our time. But what if we slow down, stand still and look around us. Unchain our minds from the ongoing expectations and judge each other with true honesty.
Look at your friends, your life, your mother, your home. and ask yourself.
Are you content, are you happy or would you want it to be different.
Truth can be selfish, truth can destroy decades of slow creeping progress, but if the road you built is leading the wrong way, isn't it better to walk down the unpaved path. However truth also can take away your bearings, your signs, your maps, and leave you stranded in the place that you once created.
My question is: Why
Why do we drag ourselves along a path we never envisioned for ourselves, why do we keep following the words we do not believe. Why do we accept being content, instead of being truly fulfilled, and why do we keep filling the maps of our lives with roads we will never walk.
The Ironic part is that we all know exactly why,
we try to walk away from the passions that brings light to our eyes, that energizes our entire body until you have that feeling of invulnerability. We deny its existence and we keep telling ourselves that it is impossible and that you can't do it because you have other responsibilities, before our passions will devour the very lives we own.
The true reason why is that we are scared, that every wall we built around ourselves will fall upon everything we ever achieved, but ask yourself the achievements you made, what are they worth to you, and only you.
We live in a world of expectations.
Everybody with their very own, incomplete set of knowledge, they all have an opinion, an expectation of how it is going to turn out, and if you do not meet the expectations sketched in the sane mind of your surroundings, you will have to give up everything you ever had to be able to do what you envisioned.
Is it worth it,
telling yourself the truth, looking within yourself with true honesty. Are you content with the person you meet, or did you find an angry man with a lost dream, waiting for his last breath to exit his lungs from a rocking chair on ill managed veranda?
Honesty can be a weapon of destruction, if you cannot wield acceptance, as before you accept the situation you are in, and understand it fully,
you will never truly know if you should really change it at all.
