It was, actually. Faust originally wanted her to just be called Twilight, but there were copyright issues. 'Sparkle' was chosen as her second name specifically to poke fun at Meyer.

What program are you using to make the bubbles? You may want to consider Inkscape. Speech bubbles are stupid easy to make using it. You can make an ellipse, make a pointy bit over it, select both, then press [Ctrl]+[+] to combine them together.

I used the Elliptical Marquee tool in Photoshop and then just resized it :V The difficult part was arranging it so it didn't take up too much space in the panel >:I
