Aw, so cute! it does looks, however, as if momma is about to eat the little guy but is caught in the process, therefore putting up a completely innocent look.

I've had cats since I was about 6 years old, and I've never seen any of them carry 'em by the head. Just the neck, or right behind the head.

just because i draw a mouth over the whole thing doesnt mean its only going for the head xD Try grabbing for something while someone breaks your focus and you are totally going to look like you will grab something else or a diffrent place on the thing.
