Snuffen this is OBVIOUSLY everything you've learned in 5 years. Only the knowledge of how to draw animals standing on two legs that look like they're about to fall over. Clearly the multitude of other things in your gallery are just really fancy animals standing on two legs that look like they're about to fall over. Even the things you call "landscape studies" or "tutorials". If you look hard enough you'll see it's just an animal on two legs
omg I couldn't resist this whole pose/improvement thing cracks me up because OBV you've gotten better and you've been awesome for years now just saying and you just keep getting better and it blows my mind

Well commenting on how little improvement has been made, especially judging from just this, is kinda rude and uncalled for, and untrue as well. Of course you may think what you'd like but it isnt necessarily true
What could've backed up your comment more, however, because its possible you meant only well, is to add up advice on where to improve or you know, anything that could be viewed upon as helpful!

some good improvement in general art technique, but out of all 3 the '09 one is actually the most balanced. in the other two if an animal had two legs on the same side lifted + it was leaning + the grounded feet were so close together, it would topple over. i'd suggest working on finding the centre of balance for a figure, there's some good tutorials out there!! and maybe animal walk cycles, since theoretically the hind leg should be lifted from the opposite site, of vice versa
otherwise though, good work!

Honestly, magical or not, it adds a sense of believability when a creature acts like a real world animal would.
But then sometimes that doesn't matter so much. Case and point:

LOL. not that i would necessarily look to mlp for anatomy reference tips, but i see what you mean. notice though that regardless of her wonky dance, twilight doesn't stand on 2 hooves of the same side! if something looks unnatural, it'll do so regardless of the level of cartoonisation.Β

xD When I redraw things its not about hanging the original picture, irst about redrawing the oiriginal picture or it for me looses its meaning to redraw it to be diffrent. Snuffen wouldnt topple over even on one leg, shes a magical creature not an unbalanced wild animal. I am an animator I know my walkcycles lol.
Cartoony animals doesnt always have to have natural poses. The fun part about cartoon and fantasy is to exaggerate. if you had taken a look at my stuff you would know I knew all these things you have just posted.

i'm sorry but those sound like excuse. the entire point of showing improvement includes fixing errors. if there's a minor error in a pose, it is normal to want to fix it, and having the opposite hind leg risen instead would not impact the entire picture on a noticeable, incomparable scale.
exaggerate means taking the rules and expanding them, not misshaping them. sure, i can draw a picture with a person who has a nose on their forehead,Β and argue it's because he has a big nose,Β but that's not exaggeration, that's surrealism at best. magical creature or no, gravity is gravity and this pose looks very unnatural. slapping a "well she's magical!!" on an art kind of defeats the purpose of improvement and, like mentioned, sounds like an excuse.
on that note, it's still your art. all i wanted to do was offer advice; you don't have to take it, and you're certainly welcome to ignore it, but do believe me when i say that i only give tips with the best of intentions, and not to put you or your art down. criticism is a good, healthy thing, and it doesn't always need to be backfired with "well it's because x". we learn from mistakes, yes?

dude thanks for the crit and all but asΒ I said I knew them and I am allowed to draw things how I want without people thinking I dont know them. Dont get mad because I dont want to go around drawing after the rules all the time. xD you can argue all you want, I draw her standing on her tail her head whatever I want since she is magical and can do those things, so your comment about how she cant stand without having natural pose to it doesnt really matter. I explained that to you to say why I didnt change the post yet you get mad tellign me im making excuses. You should check your facts before jumping to conclutions. You make it sound like I cant draw animal poses or know animation. and I tell you I do, ive even made several walkcycles.
