Not really that I know of xD I just feel like I get a more painty feel to it if I do it like this, its easier to blend and so on

gah! everything i love is in this single image
but uhh i do have a question; would it be alright if i made a creature somewhat like this? i've always loved how trees can go through so many changes and i also love animals and the mix is just perfect! i would give you credit for the original idea but it would not look like a carbon copy; it would be it's own thing. What would most likely be the same is the aspen tree like markings due to that being my favorite tree (right next to dogwood and maples~) but if you feel uncomfortable with me doing so i won't c:
