Honestly, I can understand completely. I love labradorite - it's my favorite stone for wire-wrapping. I don't have the resources or know-how to do actual lapidary work, but if I saw a specimen like that, and had some money burning a hole in my pocket, you can bet I'd take it home with me.

Yeah, this is a nice example of this mineral.
A random geology fact: Labradorite is not really a single mineral, but a series of microscopic layers of two types of feldspar. That type of layering allows the light to intefere, and create the beautiful effect we all admire

That had to cost a pretty penny. Any idea where exactly it's from? I know my chunk (it's a lot smaller) is from Newfoundland, but I know it's found elsewhere.Β
