I was such a noob back when I first got minecraft, that I actually passed an amazing valley/mountain that I could've lived in. The entire thing floated several blocks off the ground, and surface lava somehow managed to run beneath the floating parts, and in the center was a cleared out valley area, with trees and water... Being the noob that I was, I simply took a glance at this spot, then walked away to go live on a secluded island in the water, where I began to build a dirt wall around the whole island, and place torches every 2 or 3 blocks to keep mobs out. -.-
