There are many styles of MLP, not just the G4 Faust style everyone is used to. If your character is stylized, try to draw (or vector) it as show-accurate as possible; if it is already show-accurate, try drawing it as G1, EqG, etc.
Note: this is just my take on it, you can interpret it you own way if you want.
