Brown Slipply from Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal

Brown Slipply were aquatic birds native to the Sifan Coast. Lacking in aerodynamic ability, they made up for it by excelling at swimming. Spherical in shape and possessing slender, hooked beaks with which to skewer Shrumpin, they would spin their bodies in the water as they dove for their prey, leaving small whirlpools in their wake. They would nest high in the cliffs of the Sifan Coast and when offspring were born, their parents would ensure they journeyed to the Silver Sea at high tide to avoid being smashed on the rocks below
