Description
I put Carl Van Vechten's name in the prompts for these '20's jazz photos. He didn't actually start taking photos till the '30's, but he was quite involved in the culture during the 1920s as well. (He was writing then.) NightCafe did an ok job of mimicking his style - having interesting textures in the backgrounds of his portraits. Leonardo.ai the backgrounds were blurry, rather than the rich detail I love in Van Vechten's images. Bing refused to do any images with Van Vechten's name in the prompt. No idea why. So, I will put up a couple from NightCafe for your enjoyment.ΒFor the other prompts this month, go here:Β March: Time to Work ChallengeThis month I thought it would be fun to look at work through the centuries. The prompt list includes time period and occupation, with a place sometimes stated or implied. Iβm not expecting historical accuracy, so have fun playing around. If it entertains you, you could include the idea of time travel in your images. I plan on trying for an art style from that area or time period (not necessarily both at the same time) since I enjoy doing that with global challenges. I learn that way. :) 1st: Ancient Egypt (c. 2600-2100 BCE): Farmer2nd: Ancient Greece (c. 800-323 BCE): Potter3rd: Ancient India (c. 2600 BCE-1600 CE): Weaver 4th: Ancient Rome (c. 753 BCE-476 CE): Carpenter5th: Byzantine Empire (330β1453 CE): Merchant 6th: Viking Age (c. 793-1066 CE): Fisherman 7th: Medieval Europe (c. 5th-15th century): Blacksmith 8th: Islamic Golden Age (8thβ14th century): Scholar9th: Renaissance (c. 14th-17th century): Bookbinder 10th: Elizabethan Era (1558β1603 CE): Actor 11th: The Age of Exploration (15thβ17th century): Shipbuilders12th: Baroque Period (17thβ18th century): Wigmaker 13th: Colonial America (c. 1600s-1776): Cooper (barrel maker) 14th: Industrial Revolution (1760-1840): Textile Worker 15th: Victorian England (1837-1901): Tailor16th: American Wild West (c. 1860-1890): Rancher 17th: Roaring Twenties (1920s): Jazz Musician18th: Great Depression (1930s): Construction worker 19th: World War II (1939-1945): Factory Worker 20th: Space Age (1950s-1960s): Astronaut21st: Civil Rights Movement (1950s-1960s): Activist22nd: Disco Era (1970s): Bartender 23rd: Punk Rock Era (late 1970s): Tattoo Artist 24th: Renaissance of Traditional Crafts (1980s-present): Glassblower 25th: Dot-Com Bubble (1990s): Web Developer26th: Environmental Movement (1990s-present): Park ranger27th: Post-9/11 (2000s-present): Security guard28th: Sustainable Living Movement (2010s-present): Beekeeper 29th: Streaming Era (2010s-present): Video Game Streamer 30th: Rise of E-commerce (2010s-present): Fulfillment Center Worker 31st: Gig Economy (2010s-present): Ride-share DriverIf you want to join our group in celebrating St. Patrick's Day this March, find the prompts for that challenge here: ,March 2024 ChallengeFebruary 29, 2024Celebrate the luck of the Irish with our AI St.
