Marcus had considered a career in law enforcement at a young age, but was unable to join due to height limitations at the time, the Mammal inclusion initiative not being in place at the time, despite his species being considered extremely strong, so he ended up doing odd jobs and eventually became a bouncer for a nightclub, the same nightclub where he met Jenna Hopps, after almost a year of dating the Hopps sister and through that meeting the famous Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, they inspired him to try and become what he gave up on many years ago, after six months of academy training, he was immediately assigned to a special unit, something that is extremely rare but thanks to the skills he showed in training he was assigned to the same Special Intelligence Unit that Nick and Judy were assigned too, where he has proven to be a great asset time and time again.
