"She's going to be just fine?" the Serpent inquired, watching as the dark cloaked men carried the molded corpse of Pamela Isley into the next chamber. The faint green glow of something...ethereal...could be seen. The Blade, as the woman seated near her was called, nodded, smiling to herself.

"Correct," she answered in her foreign accent, an accent that the Serpent could not quite place. "You have the League's assurances that you and Wayne Enterprises will be satisfied with the results."

"I've heard of your Pit. We've seen its effects in action multiple times. Forgive me if I have my doubts as to your authenticity..."

The Blade shrugged. "It really doesn't matter to me if you believe in me or not. The Demon's Head has spoken on this matter and his will shall be done, and done well. There are bigger forces than you who have to be impressed, and impressed they will be."

The Serpent glared. "They had better. Everything depends upon this. Everything. Those insane Venomites can only squirm in the palm of my hand for so long. I need something good to give them..."
