A tribute to an underrated anime, and one of 4kids' genuinely good dub series. This bizarre intergalactic wrestler is Mantaro (Kid Muscle), the spoiled and cowardly son of the original Kinnikuman. He's the kind of character who seems childish and wimpy at first, but he always squares up when it matters.

I wanted to practice my toon lighting/shading and posework, so I selected some of the most iconic poses from U.S. wrestlers for reference (specifically Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Randy Orton). The championship belt he's holding was referenced from some toys that were released here in the states, as well as the covers of a few manga volumes. Fun fact: Despite winning the championship in the anime, Mantaro didn't win in the manga. So... this picture is half-misleading?
