Hailing from a long lineage going back thousands of years, the Shoe-ish is rich with history. Though it's namesake has, tragically, been destroyed by a villainous beast, we fought to the very end to keep it. So, our heirloom and treasure has gone, I needed to find another reason to keep our faction alive, and eventually everyone had abandoned me.
