Before they can get underway with their new mission, Kong falters. The device in his chest isn't just a power amplifier, it was also keeping him alive. There's only one man capable of fixing it, and until Kong can rendezvous with the enigmatic Dr. Frankenstein, he's in no shape to go hunting for new monster allies. Godzilla, feeling remorseful for having damaged the device, takes on the responsibility himself.

This is the last time these new friends will see each other for some time.
