Description Things tend to come out better with the sharpie pen than with a pencil. from now on I'm going to start sketching with one.

Some headcanon on Pulse's powers. I guess it's not really considered fanon yet when only one person is speculating on it.

EDIT I'm having second thoughts about the glowing eyes thing. I basically started with the game sprites of him immediately going into and coming out of his Volteccer form, where the pupil of his eye changes from black to a bright red for that split second. I figured the color change might have had something to do with the amount of power flowing through him to create that shape change where he becomes this little red ball (strangely similar to how he appeared to look when he was first born, as per the cutscene illustrations) and you can even see the electricity engulfing his body in those split-second transition sprites, much more than when he just has a charge and sparks are jumping all over him.

I guess the reason why I came up with his eyes glowing red even just when he has a charge built up (they change back to normal blue when he loses the charge or fires it off) would also show his state of mind in some way; (more headcanon) he doesn't use his powers often because he knows how other living things are affected by high voltage, and he doesn't want to hurt anyone; when he sees the need to have to attack or subdue someone who is causing others harm, he realizes that he's going to have to do something that he doesn't like nor want to do, and he takes on this air of seriousness fed in by his negative feelings on the situation at hand.

The glowing red eyes would be one of a number of things that have turned humans off on him in the past, and have served to reinforce his belief in that he is an unlovable freak. Of course, he can't tell that his eyes are glowing when he's carrying a charge, but at one point during his childhood he sees himself in a reflective surface and realizes this (very likely after some people witnessing him have run away screaming, leaving him standing there wondering what he did this time to scare everyone away).

wow look at all that extra headcanon, it's like a 2 for 1 special.
