Moment of reflection: We know that Chichi is a pain in the ass ... but the question is WHY?
She was a good fighter too, so why this aversion to Gohan's training?
Well my theory is simple and it makes sense, and you just need to know how to put yourself in her shoes:

At the first world tournament your fresh future Husband faces a scary Demon,
who breaks both his arms and legs, makes a hole in his chest and in that aforementioned hole causes him the worst suffering possible
by kicking and torturing it. Goku screams like a madman and you can't do anything...

Ladies and gentlemen, the fight against Piccolo (Uncut) remains one of the bloodiest in the history of the series, and
I do not blame Chichi for the trauma she most likely suffered and for wanting to protect his son, who is only 4 years old,
in a world where Piccolo incidentally IS STILL AROUND.
