Description
Hypertile Uncovered
EDIT 03062010
NOW WITH 3D..!!
add a tutorial on how to use hypertile with 3D apophysis
= = = = =
This is an Apophysis Fractal Tutorial on how to use the new released plugin by *Zueuk called Hypertile..
Hypertile plugin can be found here: [link]
Hit download to get the .PDF file of this tutorial
= = = = =
I really eager to make a tutorial about this because i have to wait for a long time until *Zueuk finally officially release the plugin. Before hypertile was released, I already make some poincare constellation using poincare plugin by `MichaelFaber . It was a long journey to uncovered how to make a poincare constellation..
here is my journey to make the "right" poincare:
1. Freedom [link]
2. Poincare [link]
3. Poincare II [link]
4. Poincrap [link]
5. Golden pearl [link]
(all above was made using poincare plugin (unreleased) by `MichaelFaber )
= = = = =
I hope this tutorial would be useful..
If you have any question or sugesstion to make this tutorial better, please feel free to note me..

Wow - What a mind blowing tutorial. This may well be my most favorite tutorial to date.

I used this tutorial to make these: [link] and [link] I hope you like the results! Thanks so much for sharing this lovely technique. And, it's obvious you actually understand the math behind these as well. Good for you! I'm afraid it's a little beyond me. But, I do appreciate the extra information about it that you put into the tutorial. I'm sure there are quite a few people who will actually get what you're saying and make good use of it.

Now that I've been using the plugin I should give this a read. Maybe you've got some extra tricks. This is probably my favorite plugin.
Thanks for putting this together!

Recently I found this new plugin. However, I seem to have far too many 'balls'! They overlap each other and don't show anything like the example in your tutorial. I have tried on all 3 versions of apo 7x. Can you help, please?

This plugin is kinda monster, yes. you have to rotate it at an exact angle to get rid the overlaped part. here's a basic param for you to check out the positioning of the transforms.

Brilliant! Just what I need to save on all the initial trial and error Incidentally, would you say that this counts as PoincarΓ© or hyperbolic tiling (are the two terms interchangeable?)?
π: 0 β©: 1
guagapunyaimel In reply to IDeviant [2010-06-02 10:26:19 +0000 UTC]
yes.. it counts as hyperbolic tiling..
and no, the two term aren't interchangeable. the right term for this is hyperbolic tile. poincare disk is just a way to represent hyperbolic tile since we cannot see the hyperbolic plane in real life.. another way to represent hyperbolic tile is using klein disk..

Thanks for that - I'll investigate these some more on Wikipedia. I need to improve my maths!
