Description
This is the first of three handouts I made to give out while running a panel about the Japanese animation and comic industry. This is heavily abridged, and meant to be a general overview on why Anime looks the way it does, though one could easily write books on the subject (and some have!).The layout for these is rather random, as it was done with limited time with a premium on getting as much information as possible on a page that is easily copied.
Feel free to use this as a teaching reference. Please let me know what you think!

Hey, this is really interesting. It's nice to know Japanese culture's features, it helps to comprehend where manga comes from. I'm a manga illustrator wannabe and I must confess I didn't know many of the facts you mentioned here.
I'll definitely fave this and will read the other parts
Thanks for sharing!
