Description
"Don't worry, I'll share some with you!"To be honest, I wouldn't fall for the Friendliness Pellets because I am aware of how bullet hells work, having watched a few. If I didn't, maybe? Although, they don't look that friendly. It is hard for me to pin down my first reaction since, again, I spoiled myself with Let's Plays. That is how I learned of Undertale in the first place. Despite that, seeing this sociopath doop people still make me giggle. Something I notice is that about after the encounter and before Toriel bats Flowey away with a fireball, you are all healed up. People may think that it was Toriel that made the circle of bullets disappear and heal you, but then this same thing happens in the Omega Flowey fight, just before he noticed that he lost his powers and Toriel needs to use her fireballs to knock away the bullets before the Asriel fight, so it isn't her. You also gain your name, get the narrator, and can open menus after this encounter, too. Does this mean that Chara was awakened by Frisk's determination because Flowey tried to kill you? Or... was Chara part of the SAVE file and Flowey the whole time before Flowey lost his powers to you? Something to think about. As for Flowey himself pass this point, he caused SO much misery, especially to you and Asgore, and yet, we want him to have a happy ending too, no matter the form. Personally, I don't trust it. I don't want him dead, for killing him is what he expects, but just ensure that he won't hurt anyone. He IS a confirmed serial murderer after all. But, there is a place for second chances if you truly want to stop the dust and bloodshed.
Onto the Model!
: Howdy! It's me Flowey, Flowey the Flower!
: Boy it took you long enough to get this up. Little old me is the first Undertale model you made, and yet I'm one of the last ones of the current batch you put up.
: And this model is about a year old!
Yeah... I know Flowey, but I wanted to work on the others before I started putting them up.
: It still doesn't excuse why I am not the first up!
Yeah, yeah. I was going to go over the features of the model. So do you mind?
: Aw shucks, I can do that for you. It can pull of all the faces here and the face itself is very posable with possibility of interchangeable faces later on. It looks like you eye-balled it instead of the drawing first approach you started with the Smiley Trashbag and despite that you still made it look decent compared to some sorry excuses I've seen. That's the reason why you made that model, right? Because the others sucked and yet were being used for animations?
Flowey, you don't need to be so mean about it. Now leaf me alone so I can post this.
: Alright, you unpredictable poster.
* Flowey tries to made a retort for the pun, but upon seeing that he ran out of icons, he just leaves.
I really need to strengthen the fourth wall up here.

Well, Retsubnad, the brother of my avatar-character Danbuster... he's a powerful wizard. He's working on extracting your essence from that flower somehow... he believes that in order for you to exist, there must be a shattered remnant of a Soul somewhere in there... but it will take Determination too...

: Well, something that might help is this. (summons pellets.)
: Magic is a an expression from the SOUL. The fact that I can use magic means there should be something there even if I couldn't feel anything.

Oh... errr, is there a safe way of containing those bulle... err, pellets...? Maybe they contain some of the DNA we might need to patch together a Soul from?

: Hee hee hee. As long as they don't touch your SOUL, then it's fine.
: Normally, magic bullets pass through the bodies of humans without harm in order to get at your SOUL, but they can become solid enough to be handled like Papyrus's bone collection. Plus, if the magic bullets are grey or green, then they are completely harmless.
: However... knowing me, it would be very hard to produce more than white bullets. Maybe your Alphys can help collect samples like mine did.

I'll have to call Retsy for that... he specialises in magic... I'm more a pun-loving guy myself; that's where Danbuster gets it...

: Then you got that covered. (Makes the bullets disappear.)
: My bullets won't do much good, since technically I am another As- Flowey.
: Just tell Retsy to focus on the bullets... and try not to get hit.
Also, the flower itself grew from the dust, so you'd be able to extract some from that. If Retsy is as powerful as you claim, then there's no doubt he and Frisk would be able to help your Flowey.
: Also, get your Frisk to help. I know when it comes to Determination, Frisk is full of it.
: If fact, they have SO MUCH that they can rival a GOD!

I guess it's a sort of Mercy thing... to have your memories erased, you would never miss what was reset from history... on the other hand, it clearly had some side-effects, as there's always that spark there of something not being right; a sense of deja vu...

: I had the power to SAVE long before Frisk fell to the Underground.
: However... out of all of my runs, I never triggered that sense of deja vu.

: Turns out... you need a shared bond of compassion to trigger that.

: Well, duh. I remember everything every time you or I reload.
: I made that perfectly clear when you went back after you murdered her... Didn't I?
: I would have given Frisk the same speech if I wasn't playing dead after they killed me in their first timeline.
: The others remembering anything or having a sense of deja vu isn't normal to the power to what I recall. If it was, then I would have been a little more reluctant to go that disturbing path.

: Anyway, it's not the point I was trying to make. The point is, despite knowing the ins and outs of being the anomaly, I was never able to form such strong bonds with them, so I have never triggered that feeling of deja vu.
: However, you and Frisk can because of the shared compassion. I had to look it up, but these are quite interesting: nochocolate.tumblr.com/post/14… This is only after spending less than a day to get to know them.

Seems I wasn't entirely in control when Frisk struck a crit-hit when her health was low... all I was instructing there was "prove we're strong by getting her health low, then maybe she'll stop the fight and let us go" . . . I never said kill her!
Wow, but that's rather... fascinating? Not to mention creepy that they can remember Frisk's former friendships...

: Well, you know that you control both Frisk and Chara at the same time no matter the route?
: When you Fight, the Chara side is active and admitting... they're impatient. They never meant to kill her either, but you know.
: As for the friends thing, it is only creepy if you didn't want them to remember you.

DCLeadboot In reply to GuardianMobius [2017-04-05 11:39:25 +0000 UTC]
Ah yeah... impatience can be a problem...
There's even a trope for that, called Leeroy Jenkins - referring to that one team-player who ignores your carefully laid plan and blindly rushes screaming into the thick of battle, often as not getting his whole team killed if they're not sharp enough to retreat and let him face his own consequences alone...

: That could be said about our Frisk in the hands of Kellen.
: If it weren't for that power to SAVE, they would have been dead to a couple of Loox in the Ruins.
: Also, unfortunately the Monsters aside from Sans, but they actually have a different problem...
: It's their minimal or lack of determination.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DCLeadboot In reply to GuardianMobius [2017-04-06 12:08:16 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, the regular monsters sure lack Determination... not to mention they're so polite that they won't dodge when aggressive players choose to Fight!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
GuardianMobius In reply to DCLeadboot [2017-04-07 02:55:16 +0000 UTC]
: Well... it isn't out of politeness. Determination is the will to keep living... The resolve to change fate.
: Monsters don't like getting hit, but they don't do anything about it because they don't have a strong will to keep living, ei the will to stop from dying by moving.
: Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys (and by extension Mettaton), and Asgore have stronger wills to change fate than other monsters thus they become the bosses. They try to change your course the most out of any monster and takes a lot more in order to kill them.
: Sans has the most determination out of all of them, thus his powers. You would have to catch him off guard to kill him like you would a human.
Hee hee hee... Frisk was a genius when they saved the memories of their friend's deaths. It allowed them to tap into the determination they already have and gave them greater incentive to move out of the way or block the attack with their magic or with an object not made of magic, thus averting death somewhat.

Too bad these monsters can't take a high-level of concentration, otherwise they'd truly be a force to be reckoned with.
You could hardly rely on them to fight your battles for you, unless it was a suicide mission with no other reason than distraction... but that would be a cruel way to ill-use them...

Ah, right? Heh, can't say I played RPG much, so I'm not too familiar with the concept... certainly the Tomb Raider reboots are games with a bit of RPG element, with Lara Croft earning XP from missions, collectibles and kills in order to unlock skills, and resources to improve her gear and weapons... but she's also working alone for much of the time...

: Hmm... Sonic Heroes work... somewhat. Not really.
: Anyway...
: Their monster friends can't SAVE or Load on their own, but Frisk can reload and the Monsters would retain memories like me.
: Frisk had intertwined their fate with them, strengthening that feeling of deja vu into full blown ripple proof memories.
: Just imagine what a fight with Sans would be like if he can remember the moves he already used, change up tactics, and every time you reload, be as refreshed as the fight started.

DCLeadboot In reply to GuardianMobius [2017-04-07 22:24:13 +0000 UTC]
Oh boy... yeah, if Sans could remember what worked and what didn't... he could even change up the order of his attacks, so that the most skilled of Geno-players could never predict him... and then there'd be less Soulless Frisks about after destroying the world and having to make a Faustian deal with Chara...

: Yep. And I know from experience that it turned an already frustrating fight into an impossible one.
: You see... Sans had already given up by the time Frisk fell because of me, so he didn't know that the anomaly changed hands.
: If he knew, he could have prevented everything wrong in Frisk's timelines.
: He was... really pissed off when he found out who was the real culprit of most of the resets was and that person was using his brother and killing the king even if Frisk spared him.
By that point Sans practically had Frisk under his control and had them reload every time I died, and I didn't realize it.
I wouldn't have agreed to fight him if I knew.

: They were INTENTIONALLY closing off paths! And to try to make them as good as Sans! Scratch that, "As good as an IMPROVED Sans!" I thought, "Are they nuts?!"
