And a new ship name is born~ lol

Dark Code is the name of Encoded if Jewel was found by Nightmare and his crew first instead of Ink and Error. While in the Code, Jewel would try and be a better person, but she's still a neutral, and its those around her who influence what she does. Error influence self-indulgent behavior, as does Ink, but Sans, Blueberry, even Red, started her down that path of doing better by friends. And she met them because of Ink and Error.

While Nightmare would allow her to do her own self-indulgent thing to power herself. Being around the negativity would bring her back to the days she was a bank robber, doing only things that made her feel good about herself, or just hurting others because it made her feel better, spreading the pain, ya know. Stuff Nightmare does... and it would spread misery and allow him to feed. They quickly realize she's very much just like him, a negativity magnet and can feed off it, even if it is different than his way. She becomes his Queen of Darkness, at first a very much arranged, business-type of agreement.

But time goes on. Jewel is still very much a neutral, she can't even fully transfer over to Neutral Evil. She does start to care about those around her. She becomes friends with Killer and Horror rather quickly over various things. She and Dust take longer to bond... but they become like siblings eventually. Nightmare, however... oooh, the dynamic is something I love to toy with.

They have similar powers, similar attitudes, and similar trauma. And while Nightmare's been around longer, Jewel's experienced just a tad more, learned more about herself... and has a wider range of abilities. Her primary one is what we see here, pure darkness turned armor. She's very much a close range fighter, she's prone to quick, overwhelmingly powerful attacks. She can also use black fire (hence the gauntlets) and black lightning. The black fire is what's making Nightmare bubble, but his goop is also acidic and burning her in areas that aren't coated in this blackness. They can cancel each other out and it's literally her determination that's allowing her to go through it at all and get to his soul.

And Nightmare is totally not used to being dominated, he's always the one in charge. And he's finding... that he kind of likes the power being taken from him. XD
