Description
I've heard voices all my life.[EDIT] Made some changes, hopefully for the better. CAN YOU TELL I REALLY LIKE DRAWING WIRES THESE DAYS LOL
IF YOU ARE STILL AFRAID OF PORTAL 2 SPOILERS, YOU SLOWPOKE, TURN AWAY RIGHT NOW, PUT BRAIN FUNCTIONS ON HOLD, AND FILL IT UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE .
YOU SHOULD ALSO PROBABLY STOP READING THIS COMMENT; I AM ABOUT TO MAKE IT BLATANTLY WORSE.
And we wondered why GLaDOS is ax-crazy. Granted Caroline can't have been the paragon of sanity to begin with, considering who she worked for and hero-worshipped. But stick a couple of crazy voices in ANYONE's head and let's see how long they last before they decide that, why, sadistic revenge on the people who did that would be a fantastic idea.
Oh, wait, she probably already decided revenge would be a fantastic idea after they forcefully crammed her mind into a computer.
You know what doesn't rhyme with mind rape?
Neurotoxin.
Oops.
But the crazy-bitch GLaDOS is the one we all learned to love. 8D

I always thought it was the billions of cores they stuck on her, considering when she was a potato and she was -Only herself/Caroline- she realized she'd had so many voices telling her what to do she'd never heard her own conscience.
Which I believe to be the same reason Wheatley went crazy when he got his head jammed onto her body.
Anyway, this is really nicely painted. I like her hands. Very expressive.

I've always interpreted it as the initial OMFGTHEYMURDEREDMEANDSTUFFEDMEINTOTHISCOMPUTER combining with the questionably programmed mainframe prompting the first round of attempted murders, which lead the scientists to install the cores, which...made things worse.
Oh how love the smell of irony in the morning. C:
Now that I think about it, she didn't really have anything stuck on her through the second game, and yet it's only as POTaTOS that she mentions hearing her own voice...makes me wonder what exactly they put in that main body.

RIGHT, I mean the actual body, my mind sometimes mixes the first game with the second. But there's something up with GLaDoS' body for real. I hope she was lying when she deleted Caroline. :I Because she was really cute as Caroline.

Considering how integral (albeit forgotten) a part of GLaDOS Caroline is, I somehow doubt it's something she could just up and delete that easily. That is to say, assuming there is a real distinction between the two in the first place. Which is wide open to interpretation, imo. :]

I love this more every time I see it You did a great job. I'm glad to see this, because I always thought that by the time Caroline "became" GLaDOS, she would've been pretty crazy.

Thank you. :] Caroline is quite an interesting character, despite the fact that all we have of her is couple-words-long pre-recorded messages, a painting, and what's left inside GLaDOS.

Thank you. :] I'm a fan of Sarcastically Homicidal GLaDOS to begin with, and Portal 2 just made the character that much more interesting. I tried to show a bit of that here.

I'm not very sure the morality core said anything in his life, but YEAH, It's totally true !!! I try to imagine the pain to ear the three others at same time in my head. woah, porroGLaDOS. Anyway, You made a great piece there. Well done ! ^^

Maybe THAT's why it seemed to do absolutely nothing in preventing her from murdering people.
Or maybe it just transmits ideas instead of vocalizing them. I'm not sure that's any better...
I'm sure if I had left it out I'd get comments saying "YOU LEFT OUT THE MORALITY CORE HOW DARE YOU INACCURACYYYYYY" >_____>
Thank you!

"Maybe you didn't noticed, but neurotoxin is my fad." - GLaDOS
"...all along you were my best friend" - Caroline.
If you think about it... Chell removed that 'voices' from GLaDOS. Then she removed her from body. Remember, when you're in control of AS labs, you have euphoric stimulation, which forces to continue testing (it drove Wheatley mad). Then she brought her to old labs, where GLaDOS learned about her true identity - Caroline. I think after that so-called 'therapy' she became sane... at least, more sane than she was.
And yes, I agree, if you forsefully put someone unstable into a computer, along with corrupt cores and then give that AI full control... well, what else did you expected?

Guavi In reply to sodomitor [2011-05-06 21:22:55 +0000 UTC]
That makes a lot of sense. O: In becoming more "sane" she rediscovers who she really was without all the crazy, what her own actual voice is...and then deletes it. Or so she wants us to think.
POTaTOS does mention that she's in it for the science rather than the programmed satisfaction and claims to be above its influences. But she is a lying liar who lies and is shown to be in blatant denial on more than one occasion. So. Who knows. C:
Does fit with the "married to science," though.

Yeah, she can do it for sciense, and programmed euphoria just added bonus. 2 in 1, kinda.
