The wildlife in the picture denotes the setting is coastal-the abundance of tropical organisms (and coral) would find it impossible to live without sunlight, so the depth of this setting is 200 ft at the maximum and most likely shallower. All of this is supported by the shark in the background, which matches the profile of most reef sharks, including a long threshing table for faster turning, which is more important around convoluted coral reefs than raw speed. What is out of place is the whale, which, due to its features and shape, I strongly suspect to be either a blue whale or a humpback whale. These whales are migratory, and tend to live in deeper waters, closer to the arctic when feeding, and really only in tropical waters when calving-it is strange to find a solitary whale in the area and stranger still to see it in such a shallow region. Furthermore, the diver's gear is incredibly out of place. This range is within easy access of scuba gear, and the fact that he's out here, alone, with no air tube connecting him to a boat, implies that he is A) new at this and B) about to die.
That aside, it is a rather pretty picture.
